Dinner & Happy Hour Spots
Michaelangelo’s
Callie Pecunies, a Broker in our Big Sky office, shares, “My favorite date night location in Big Sky is Michaelangelo’s. It has consistently great food, excellent service, and we like to sit on the corner at the bar. It’s a beautiful setting with great ambiance.”
Horn & Cantle
Horn & Cantle has maintained an outstanding reputation since its opening almost a decade ago, and not just for the food. Located in Lone Mountain Ranch, this restaurant takes great pride in their carefully curated, and locally sourced menu, as well as their commitment to providing an authentic Montanan experience. They even have the option to book a sleigh ride dinner! From the appetizers to the ambiance, no detail is left unattended, and we can guarantee you won’t be disappointed.
Fresco Café
This recommendation comes from Jamie Jones, a Broker in Bozeman office. Her and her husband have made this family-owned Italian restaurant into one of their date night staples. “Whitt & I love Fresco Café! It’s cute and quaint, right next to a little creek and the food is delicious!” Come back and visit in the summer to experience their award-winning patio that encapsulates comfort and elegance.
Devil’s Toboggan
Devil’s Toboggan is stylishyly luxurious and perfect for a romantic night out. This speakeasy-inspired cocktail bar is one of the best in Bozeman. With its early 20th century inspired interior, stepping into the semi-hidden bar immediately sends patrons back in time. The idyllic mood lighting, inventive cocktails, and top tier service makes this bar one of our favorite date night spots. Go for the aesthetic but stay for the happy hour.
Getaways & Day Trips
Sage Lodge
Sage Lodge is loved by locals and tourists alike. Our Sales Associate, Amy Brauner, said it best, “For a romantic Valentine’s Day getaway, I highly recommend Sage Lodge in Pray, MT. Just an hour from Bozeman, it offers incredible views of Emigrant Peak, a beautiful spa, and two great restaurants to enjoy a cozy meal. Whether you’re unwinding by the fire, treating yourself to a spa day, or just soaking in the scenery, it’s an amazing place to relax and reconnect.”
Gallatin River Lodge
Bobby Goodman, Broker and Montana native, could not recommend this spot enough. “My wife and I love going to Gallatin River Lodge for a Valentine’s celebration. The atmosphere and rustic mood in the lodge is contagious and full of the Montana vibe! Sometimes there is live music on the patio and the staff is incredible. The views from the restaurant overlook a private, fish stocked pond which is a gorgeous site! We have celebrated many Valentine’s dinners and have also spent the night – as we did for our wedding night! It’s a very special place!”
Yellowstone National Park
Though millions of visitors flock to see Yellowstone National Park each year, as there is a little something for everyone, it remains close to the hearts of Montanans. Tallie Lancey, one of our Big Sky Brokers, shares a special tradition with her husband that is a little different from your usual romantic dinner on Valentine’s Day.

“We spend Valentine’s Day in Yellowstone National Park, doing what we love most… backcountry Nordic skiing. For our annual lunch date deep in the wilderness, my husband digs a snow pit to protect us from the crisp breeze. There, we enjoy turkey sandwiches, hot chocolate, and being alone together. It’s not fancy but it’s us.”
From outdoor exploits to hidden corners of bars, love is all around us. We hope you enjoy these date night spots just as much as we do!
